“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
― Pablo Picasso

Since Donald Trump became the president-elect, I’ve become more wary and fearful of the future, especially as an Asian-American and as a woman.
At the same time, I’ve come to greatly appreciate the fact that I was raised in the arts community, where many are open-minded and accepting of people regardless of their race, sexuality, and religion.
I have found dance, photography, and music to be my safe haven. A place where I can temporarily escape from all the worries and problems in life; my remedy, my happiness… a place where I can be myself without judgement or discrimination.
So I believe that in times like this, our art should be louder than ever. Self-expression should have no limits.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! You are inspiring me to be louder with my self expression as well, during this difficult time. xo
